Danzer AG can look back on a solid yet challenging year in 2025. Revenue advanced from EUR 166 million (2024) to EUR 169 million, representing growth of approx. 4.5 percent after adjustment for exchange rate effects. The headcount remained virtually unchanged at 1,008. Persistent geopolitical uncertainties, a weak construction sector in Europe, and accelerated industry consolidation created challenging operating conditions. The situation was compounded by US tariffs, which weighed on international trade and triggered additional market turbulence. Against this backdrop, Danzer’s revenue growth of clearly more than four percent underscores the resilience of its business model.
Technical Veneers as Innovation Strategy“2025 wasn’t an easy year – for our industry or for global trade as a whole. Which makes it all the more pleasing that we not only maintained our market position but expanded it. This is the result of the consistent strategic work we have put in over recent years,” explained company CEO Hans-Joachim Danzer. Alongside decorative veneers and parquet lamellas, hardwood specialist Danzer is consciously driving the development of technical veneers: by producing new veneer structures and combining them with materials such as aluminum, copper, and brass, it is creating surfaces that would not otherwise be possible with naturally grown wood. This approach opens up entirely new design possibilities for designers and processors, while assuring consistent quality and availability. It also enables Danzer to position itself as an innovation leader at the intersection of nature and technology. “We are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible with wood. Our technical veneers combine the aesthetics and warmth of real wood with properties and forms that nature alone simply cannot provide. This is the path that we are continuing to pursue as part of our company's development and which sets us apart from pure-play raw material suppliers,” Hans-Joachim Danzer added.
Sustainability Strategy and EUDR: Prepared for TomorrowSustainability is another core topic for Danzer – also in light of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). Though the application date has been delayed, it remains a key focus for the industry. Having already implemented the necessary internal processes and traceability systems in 2025, Danzer is prepared for the requirements of the EUDR when it enters into force. This is increasingly paying off: more and more customers are consciously turning to suppliers that are already in a position to meet the upcoming regulatory requirements. Danzer is benefiting from this trend as a reliable partner with seamless due diligence processes and an almost 100% certified wood supply chain. “We have already completed our homework – long before the EUDR becomes mandatory. And we are seeing that customers appreciate it: the ones who are already addressing tomorrow’s requirements choose Danzer as a partner. This gives us a clear competitive advantage,” Hans-Joachim Danzer confirmed.
Well Positioned for 2026The market environment will remain demanding in 2026. Industry consolidation is expected to continue, and the international trade climate is likely to remain under pressure. However, Danzer sees itself as ideally placed in this climate – with a clear strategic focus, a stable workforce, and a product portfolio that is consistently geared toward differentiation and technological innovation. “We continue to look to the future with optimism because we know we are on the right path. Danzer will continue to build on its technological expertise and offer customers solutions that deliver genuine added value,” Hans-Joachim Danzer concluded.
